| This is how it started: Since I was a kid I dreamed of having a dog, but I had to wait and only when I had my own family, my dream came true. 1982 we went to a doghouse and picked up a cross-breed bitch named 'Charlotte'. In 1986 we thought about giving a second dog a home. We decided for a West Highland Terrier. Friends, who already owned such a dog, gave us the address of a breeder. Said and done: We called there and informed us about this breed. Additionally we learned about the breed of the Cairn Terrier, which was totally new to us. Because of these Information, we got curious and wanted to learn more about "Them". The breeder gave us some addresses of Cairn Terrier breeders, though we got in contact with Mr. and Mrs. Bottenberg. At this time they did not have any pups but they send us to the Netherlands, where they knew a breeder who had some, the father of those pups was a male dog of family Bottenberg. |

| This is how we got proud Owners of Chico Lady de Twentenaar, a Cairn Terrier male dog. My husband and I, our daughters and also the cross-breed bitch 'Charlotte' had a new family member. Sadly Chico died with 6 years, the whole family mourned. After Chico died and the whole family was terribly sad, we sat together and agreed to get a new Cairn Terrier. As it is said: Once a Cairn, always a Cairn. |

| But at this time, there were no pups in Hessen. This is how we got to Woerth to a family named Schwensow, where we got our Quincy vom Spitalhof. We were very happy. Only 8 months later the bitch Sandy vom Spitalhof joined our family. As it is said: two Cairns are better then one. |

| There we go: A friend of us, who owned a Bobtail showed him of at exhibitions, registered us, whithout our knowledge, for an exhibition. As we received the registration form, we were very much surprised. The day we went there our friend joined in, we all were pretty much nervous as well as curious. It was a wonderful exciting day. We learned a lot about exhibitions and got to know many dog fanciers. We liked it very much. This is how we found the foundation-stone of our breed: We visited more and more exhibitions, in the beginning as visitors then as exhibitors. We learned more and more about exhibitions, dogbreeding, and characteristics of Cairn Terriers. We decided to buy and additional bitch, which we could show on exhibitions. As we were looking for this dog, we got introduced to more breeders. To some of them we developed a close friendship. |

Some of them asked us to raise our own breed. First of all, we did not think this would be realizable, but we thought a lot about it. After many thoughts and many talks with other breeders, we started thebreed "Mac Cloud's. Today we call a cheerful bunch of Cairn Terriers our own. We already had some pups, which inspire us over and over again. We also had many good results on exhibitions. We have a lot of fun raising pups and showing them on exhibitions. But after all, our main concern is to raise healthy, strongly-natured and good-looking, splendid dogs. |

Through our dogs, we got many friends and new contacts at home and abroad. Together with them we work at the stock of the Cairn Terrier.
We thank all the people, who helped us with word and deed as we started the breed and who still lend a helping hand to support us. We also thank all pup owners, who give our pups a happy home. Many greetings... Ulrike & Harald |
